Tonight's Homework: 

I completely forgot to mention your homework in class today! Please forgive me.

Tonight, please do the following:

• Read 
• "The Garden of Eden" and 
• "The Top Hat". 
• Annotate: 
• On the right: questions, thoughts, and reactions. 
• On the left: Rhetorical/literary devices and deep thoughts (it is philosophy after all)
• Extra Credit opportunity (10 points)
• Write a trouble slip for each chapter
• Since I have not explained this to you, I do not expect you to do it.
• Here is a link to an explanation right out of the book I got the concept from: Trouble Slips
• Click to the second page and read the explanation of what it IS.
• Don't mind the teacher stuff, that's my job.
• Just write down the page number where you had the trouble, identify the element that is giving you trouble, and ask a clarifying question. That's it!

Weekend Homework:

• "The Natural Philosophers"
• "Democritus"
• "Fate"
• Annotate:
• On the right: questions, thoughts, and reactions.
• On the left: Rhetorical/literary devices and deep thoughts (it is philosophy after all) 
• Trouble Slips:
• complete one trouble slip per chapter (just write a question on a 3 X 5 ) card. That's it!

Sophie's World and the Class Calendar:

I will try to get everything calendared out for the reading by the end of the weekend. For the time being, it would not be a bad idea to swing by the calendar page to check for updates.
